What to expect for my first massage?
When clients arrive for a massage the therapist will review medical history and discuss any problem areas or muscle pain/tightness client is experiencing. Clients are asked to arrive 15 minutes prior to treatment to complete intake information forms.
Massages are completed in a private, quiet, area. Once in treatment area, therapist will leave to allow time for client to prepare for massage. Clients are asked to undress to their level of comfort and position under blankets on massage table. Therapist will re-enter when client is ready and begin massage.
What do I need to wear/bring to my massage?
You do not need to bring anything special to your massage appointment. Clothing is
typically removed to client level of comfort in a private setting before getting on the
massage table. Once client is positioned safely and fully draped with blankets therapist
with enter to begin session.
Phones must be silenced or off!
What if I have allergies?
You will be given time to complete a form for your safety. This form will include
questions about allergies and medical conditions that affect you as well as medication
you are currently taking to ensure your safety during your session.
Do I need to consult my doctor before having a massage?
In most cases you do not need to consult with your doctor prior to having a massage.
You do not need a prescription to receive a massage. If you have been diagnosed with a
chronic disease by a physician, a Lotus Massage representative will be more than willing
to discuss obtaining medical clearance for massage on an individual basis.
Can someone come with me to my appointment?
It is best to limit distractions during a massage session to maximize therapeutic benefits.
Attending a session individually is best to allow time to relax and refresh. Those under
the age of 18 will require parental consent to be signed, parent is encouraged be
present during session. Please specify during scheduling for anyone under the age of 18
or requiring 1 other person present during session for client safety.
Can I use my health insurance?
Lotus Massage is not currently accepting insurance, but is working to extend services in
the future. Can reimbursed by health care savings accounts.
Can I get massage at my home?
Massage can be arranged for home visit, contingent on schedule – must request upon
scheduling

Requires a private/quiet area free from pets and children, with space to set up
equipment
Will I get an appointment reminder?
Clients will receive a text reminder 48 hours prior to scheduled appointment.
When should I cancel my massage appointment?
If you have or have had a fever in the last 24-hours please call and cancel your
appointment. If fever requires medication to be controlled, please cancel appointment
until you are fever free without medication for more than 24-hours. If client has
experienced Covid exposure within the last 14 days, is awaiting Covid test results,
quarantined due to Covid related reasons, please contact and cancel appointment.
Rescheduling can be discussed based on safety and available scheduling times

Payment required when scheduling appointment
Cancelled or rescheduled appointments require at least 24-hour notice
Deposits are non-refundable for appointments cancelled or rescheduled less than 24 hours in advance.
Covid/emergency/sickness cancel – Please make therapist aware if you have experienced Covid exposure, emergency, or sickness prior to appointment time to manage appointment arrangements.
Massage therapist has the right to end massage if client or therapist are unsafe!
